Rochester town stood in silence, the stench of corruption and ignorance hanging in the air. The sun loomed over the horizon, veiled in thin clouds as the wind bit into any flesh left unguarded. It would be foolish not to wrap up warm on a day like this. Of course, the town knew many fools. Its guardian was not one of them. Talon crouched on his perch, watching, hawk-like, as the late-night stragglers left the clubs, cursing like sailors. He looked away almost in disgust, instead feasting his eyes on the blue abyss that he rarely got to see. Ring'd with the azure world, he stands, he thought cynically, leaving his trance and checking his wat
